Rock Festival in EMU

Organized annually by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Social and Cultural Activities Directorate, 10th “Rock’n EMU” event was held at EMU Yasin Düşüner Stadium at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, 8 April 2022. Youngsters from all over the island attended the festival. Students from different universities came to EMU by bus to enjoy the Rock’n EMU event. The youth and the public, who filled the stadium, had great time during the event.

As it is every year, the event was held with great enthusiasm and participation. Famous rock groups and rock singers of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) performed in the event. The festival commenced with the performances of Oto Pilot and Midnight Ceremony rock groups operating under the EMU Social and Cultural Activities Directorate and continued with the performance of our country’s popular rock group, Force Awakens.  

Following Force Awakens, international rock group Decapitated took the stage performing popular songs such as “Blood Mantra”, “Cancer Culture” and “Spheres of Madness”. One of the performers was Redd who delivered “Hala Aşk Var Mı?”, “Kanıyorduk”, “Kalpsiz Romantik” and its other popular songs.

Rock Music Feast by the Groups

The final performance of the night was delivered by Manga who had represented Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest with its “We Could Be The Same” song. Manga entertained the audience with amazing rock songs like “Dünyanın Sonuna Doğmuşum”, “Beni Benimle Bırak” and “Cevapsız Sorular”.

At the end of event, EMU vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu presented Oto Pilot, Midnight Ceremony, Force Awakens, Decapitated, Redd and Manga appreciation plaques. Prof. Dr. İşçioğlu thanked all the rock groups for their joyful performances and the audience for being there.
